History of Benedict Village
Benedict was officially created in 1886. This happened when the Kansas City and Omaha Railroad built its tracks through the area. The village was named after E. C. Benedict, who was an important official for the railroad company.
Just four years later, in 1890, Benedict became an official village. This meant it could have its own local government.
