Learning to Act
Benedita began her journey to become an actress at the Balleteatro Training Centre. She also had special training with experienced professionals from theater, cinema, and television. These teachers helped her learn many skills for acting.
Becoming a TV Star
Benedita first appeared on television in shows like A Lenda da Garça (The Legend Of The Heron) in 1999. She also acted in O Bairro da Fonte (Quarter Of The Fountain) in 2002.
However, she became very famous when she starred in the youth series Morangos com Açúcar (Strawberries With Sugar). This show was a huge hit in 2003 and 2004. After that, she continued to appear in other popular soap operas, such as Ninguém Como Tu (Nobody Like You) in 2005 and Tempo de Viver (Time To Live) in 2006.
Acting Beyond Portugal
Benedita also spent time studying acting in New York City. She attended the Lee Strasberg Institute, a famous acting school. While there, she lived with her good friend, fellow Portuguese actress Daniela Ruah.
