Benjamín Rojas Pessi (born April 16, 1985) is a famous actor and singer from Argentina. He became well-known for his roles in popular TV shows like Chiquititas, Rebelde Way, and Floricienta. Benjamín was also a member of the successful pop-rock band Erreway. He sang alongside Camila Bordonaba, Felipe Colombo, and Luisana Lopilato in the band.

Acting Career

Early Roles (1998–2003)

Benjamín Rojas started acting when he was just 12 years old in 1998. His first big role was as Yago in the TV show Chiquititas. In this show, he played a boy who was like Tarzan. He helped a girl named Jimena get out of a jungle. Jimena then took him to an orphanage called Rincón de Luz.

In 1999, Chiquititas changed its story completely for its fifth season. Benjamín stayed on the show but played a new character named Bautista Arce. He also played this role in the Chiquititas movie, Chiquititas: Rincón de Luz.

In 2002, Benjamín joined another hit TV series called Rebelde Way. He played the character Pablo Bustamante. While working on Rebelde Way, he formed a music band called Erreway. He was in the band with his co-stars Camila Bordonaba, Felipe Colombo, and Luisana Lopilato. Erreway sold over 10 million CDs around the world! In 2004, Benjamín played Pablo Bustamante again in the movie Erreway: 4 caminos, which was a spin-off from Rebelde Way.

Becoming a Star (2004–Present)

In 2004, Benjamín Rojas starred in the TV series Floricienta. This was his third project with the same production company in seven years. He played Franco Fritzenwalden for two seasons. He also performed this role in the theater version of Floricienta.

In 2006, he worked on another TV series called Alma Pirata. He acted alongside Luisana Lopilato again. Benjamín also recorded several songs for the Alma Pirata soundtrack.

From 2007 to 2009, Benjamín made guest appearances in the TV series Casi Ángeles. In 2008, he appeared in two movies, Kluge and La leyenda. These were his first projects that were not with the company that made Chiquititas and Rebelde Way.

In 2008, Benjamín signed a contract for a new TV show called Jake & Blake. This was his first project in English. The series was about two look-alikes, like the story of The Prince and the Pauper. It became very popular worldwide. In 2011, Benjamín acted in two more TV series: Amigos y Rivales and Cuando me sonreís.

Musical Career

While working on Rebelde Way, Benjamín Rojas and his co-stars Luisana Lopilato, Felipe Colombo, and Camila Bordonaba formed the band Erreway. They quickly became popular around the world, especially in Latin America, Spain, Europe, and Israel. All their studio albums, Señales (2002), Tiempo (2003), and Memoria, sold enough copies to be certified Platinum.

The band was not very active from 2005 to 2007. Then, they reunited as a trio without Luisana Lopilato. They released a collection of their greatest hits in 2007. A new album called Vuelvo was announced, but it was never released. In 2010, Camila Bordonaba and Felipe Colombo started their own music project, which meant Erreway had officially split up.

Benjamín Rojas has also recorded many songs for the soundtracks of his TV shows. This includes five Chiquititas albums from 1998 to 2001. He also sang songs for the Floricienta soundtrack. In 2006, he recorded music for Alma Pirata, and in 2007, he appeared on the Casi Ángeles soundtrack. In 2010, Benjamín released the soundtrack album for his TV series Jake & Blake.

Benjamín Rojas was born in La Plata, Argentina. He is the youngest of four children. He has two brothers, Carlos María and Juan Luis, and one sister, Milagros. Benjamín used to play rugby for his school team, Gimnasia La Plata. However, he stopped playing sports because of his acting role in Chiquititas.

Benjamín loves soccer and is a big fan of the Club de Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata team. He speaks both Spanish and English very well. He studied English for six months in New York City to prepare for his English-speaking TV series, Jake & Blake.

Benjamín Rojas was in a relationship with actress Camila Bordonaba when they worked together on Chiquititas and Rebelde Way. Later, from 2005 to 2008, he was in a relationship with actress and model María Del Cerro.

Since 2011, Benjamín Rojas has been with Martina Sánchez Acosta, who is a television producer. On December 21, 2018, they welcomed their first child, a daughter named Rita.
