Early Life and First Steps
Bentley Kyle Evans was born in Oakland, California. He grew up in the View Park-Windsor Hills area of Los Angeles. He finished high school in 1984. Just two years later, in 1986, he started working as a Production Assistant for the movie "Hollywood Shuffle." He even had a small speaking part in the film, which helped him join the Screen Actors Guild (SAG). This is a group for actors.
A Career in Television and Film
Evans began his acting career in the 1990 movie House Party. He is best known for being a "showrunner" for many TV comedies. A showrunner is like the main boss of a TV show. They make sure everything runs smoothly.

Evans was the showrunner for several well-known sitcoms:
- Martin (1992–1997) on FOX.
- The Jamie Foxx Show (1996–2001) on The WB.

Working on Movies
Outside of television, Evans also worked on movies. He co-wrote the script for the 1996 film, A Thin Line Between Love and Hate. He wrote this movie with Martin Lawrence, who was the star of the Martin TV series.
Newer Projects and Streaming
Bentley Kyle Evans created, produces, and directs the TV series Family Time. This show was the first original TV program for Bounce TV. He also created other comedies for Bounce TV, like In the Cut and Grown Folks.
In 2021, Evans was an executive producer for a new Jamie Foxx comedy called Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!. This show was released on Netflix.
Evans also worked with famous rapper MC Lyte. They created a series together called Partners in Rhyme, which started on ALLBLK. Evans directed the first two seasons of this show. He also executive produces and directs another comedy on ALLBLK called Millennials.
