Benton Ridge is a small village located in Hancock County, Ohio, in the United States. In 2020, about 272 people lived there. Students in Benton Ridge attend schools in the Liberty-Benton Local School district.

History of Benton Ridge
Benton Ridge was first called Benton. It was founded in 1835. The village was named after Thomas Hart Benton. He was a U.S. Senator from Missouri. Some of the first people who settled in Benton Ridge are buried in Swartz Cemetery. This cemetery also has a special memorial for veterans.
A post office has been open in Benton Ridge since 1837. Benton Ridge officially became a village in 1875. In 1994, Fairy Parkins, who was the postmaster in Benton Ridge, was named the best postmaster in Ohio.
The Benton Ridge Telephone Company started in 1902. It provides phone services to rural areas in west central Ohio. In 1992, they started a cable TV and internet company called WATCH. Later, in 2010, they launched a fiber-based internet company called CFS. Another company bought the telephone company in 2022.
On November 1, 1941, a B-25 bomber crashed near Benton Ridge. This happened during a training mission. The plane was flying from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Solt Automotive Engineering was a company located just outside Benton Ridge. It was one of the oldest go-kart makers in the USA.
