Berend McKenzie is a Canadian actor and playwright. He is known for his acting roles and for writing plays. As an actor, he is most famous for playing Lance in the 2004 movie, Catwoman.

About Berend McKenzie
Berend McKenzie grew up in Alberta, Canada. He was adopted by a family of a different background. He faced some challenges growing up because he was different from many people around him. However, his family was very supportive of him. He eventually moved away to find a more welcoming environment.
Acting and Playwriting Career
Berend McKenzie started his film career in 2002. He had a small role in the movie Life or Something Like It alongside Angelina Jolie. His most famous film role was playing Lance in the 2004 superhero movie, Catwoman. In this film, he acted with Alex Borstein and Halle Berry.
In 2006, Berend McKenzie began his career as a playwright. His first full-length play was called Get Off the Cross, Mary. This play was a unique show that used puppets. It won an award called the Xtra West Hero Award for Best Live Performance in 2008.
His second full-length play, Nggrfg, came out in 2010. This play was based on his own life experiences growing up in Alberta. It shared four stories about the challenges he faced as a young person who was different from others. The play was nominated for a Jessie Award for Original Script. It was also shown at the Queer Acts Theatre Festival in Halifax. A special version of the play, called Tassels, was created for younger students in elementary and middle schools.
