A Look Back in Time
Berlin became an official town in 1910. That same year, a post office opened there. The town was named after the city of Berlin in Germany.
During World War I, people in the United States felt very strongly against Germany. Because of this, Berlin, Georgia, was briefly renamed "Lens." But soon after, its original name, Berlin, was brought back.
