Berne is a small town, also called a municipality, located in the Wesermarsch district of Lower Saxony, a state in Germany. It sits on the left side of the Weser River. Berne is about 20 kilometers (12 miles) east of Oldenburg and 25 kilometers (15 miles) northwest of Bremen.
Berne is known as the birthplace of Dieter Bohlen, a famous musician, producer, and songwriter.
