Bianca Knight, born on January 2, 1989, is an American athlete who used to compete in track and field. She was a very fast runner, specializing in the 100-meter and 200-meter races. One of her biggest achievements was winning a gold medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. She was part of the 4 × 100 meters relay team. In that exciting final race, Bianca and her teammates, Tianna Madison, Allyson Felix, and Carmelita Jeter, set a new world record that had stood for 27 years!

Early Life and High School Success

Bianca Knight grew up in Pearl, Mississippi. She went to Ridgeland High School in Ridgeland, Mississippi. Even in high school, Bianca was an amazing athlete. In 2006, she won a special award called the Gatorade Athlete of the Year for track and field. She was the very first person from Mississippi to ever win this award, which shows how talented she was.

College and Professional Career

After high school, Bianca went to the University of Texas. As a freshman in 2008, she quickly made a name for herself. She won the indoor NCAA 200-meter championship. Her winning time of 22.40 seconds was a new record for college athletes.

Soon after her freshman year, Bianca decided to become a professional athlete. This meant she would compete full-time and earn money from her sport. In 2008, she competed in the US Olympic Trials for the 200-meter race, finishing in 5th place.

Bianca also competed in big international events. She won the 200-meter race at the Golden Gala in Rome, which is part of the IAAF Diamond League series. She competed professionally for Adidas, a well-known sports company.
