Bill Camp was born and grew up in Massachusetts. His mother, Patricia L., was a librarian. His father, Peter B. Camp, was an assistant headmaster at the Groton School. Bill went to the University of Vermont for college. While there, he enjoyed playing intramural hockey.
Career
Theatre Work
Bill Camp started his acting career mostly in theatre. Theatre means performing live on a stage. Later, he began taking on different roles in movies and TV shows.
In 2002, he took a break from acting. He worked as a cook and a mechanic for two years. But he soon returned to acting. He won an Obie Award for his role in the play Homebody/Kabul. An Obie Award celebrates great Off-Broadway theatre.
He has performed in several plays on Broadway. These include Heartbreak House (2006), Death of a Salesman (2012), and The Crucible (2016). For The Crucible, he was nominated for a Tony Award. The Tony Awards celebrate excellence in live Broadway theatre.
