William Allen Edwards, born on August 28, 1971, is a former professional basketball player from the United States. He was known as "Dollar Bill" Edwards during his career. Bill played as a small forward and power forward. He stood about 6 feet 8 inches (2.03 meters) tall.

College Basketball Career

Bill Edwards played college basketball at Wright State University. He was a star player for the Wright State Raiders. In 1993, he was named the Summit League Men's Basketball Player of the Year. This award goes to the best player in the Summit League conference.

Professional Basketball Journey

Even though Bill Edwards was a great college player, he was not chosen in the NBA draft. He started his professional career in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA). He played for the Sioux Falls Skyforce in his first season. In 1994, he was picked for the CBA All-Rookie First Team.

He played a few games with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1993–94 season. However, most of his career was spent playing in Europe. He played for 12 years with many different teams across Europe. He played in top leagues like the EuroLeague and FIBA SuproLeague. Some of his teams included PAOK in Greece and ASVEL in France.

Playing for Team USA

Bill Edwards also represented his country, the United States. He was part of the Team USA that won a bronze medal. This happened at the 1998 FIBA World Championship. It was a big achievement to win a medal for his country.

Bill Edwards' Family Life

Bill Edwards is a father to two sons who also became talented basketball players. His son, Bill Edwards Jr., played college basketball for Penn State. Another son, Vincent Edwards, also played college basketball for Purdue. Vincent even went on to play in the NBA.
