Billy Boyd was born on August 28, 1968, in Glasgow, Scotland. He is a Scottish actor. He is best known for his role as Peregrin Took, also known as Pippin, in The Lord of the Rings movie trilogy. These popular movies came out between 2001 and 2003. He also played Barrett Bonden in the movie Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World in 2003.
More Than Just Acting
Billy Boyd has many talents. Besides acting, he can sing and play several musical instruments. He plays the guitar, bass, and drums. He even wrote and sang a song for one of the Lord of the Rings movies. This song was in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.
Before he became a famous actor, Billy Boyd worked for six years as a book-binder. This means he helped put books together. Interestingly, one of the books he helped bind was The Lord of the Rings.
Billy Boyd lives in Lesmahagow with his partner, Alison McKinnon. They had their first child, Jack William Boyd, on April 26, 2006.
