Bilz y Pap is a super popular soda brand from Chile. It's actually the name for two different soft drinks, Bilz and Pap, which are made in Santiago. Bilz is red and Pap is yellow. Bilz first came out in 1905, and Pap followed in 1927. They also have other fun flavors like purple, green, sky blue, candy, cotton candy, and orange!
What Are Bilz and Pap?
Bilz and Pap are two different soda flavors. They are made by a Chilean company called Compañía de las Cervecerías Unidas, or CCU. Even though they are different, their names are often used together in advertising.
Bilz is a red soda with an artificial, fantasy flavor. Pap is a yellow soda that tastes like papaya. Both are very popular in Chile.
The Story Begins
The Bilz soda was first created in Germany. A German scientist named Friedrich Eduard Bilz made it at the start of the 1900s. This drink later became known as Sinalco in other parts of the world.
More Flavors and Fun Characters
The CCU company also makes another soda called Kem. This one is a pineapple-flavored drink. In recent years, they have also made "light" versions of Bilz and Pap. These are called Bilz Light and Pap Light, and they have zero calories.
Bilz y Pap is also famous for its fun characters. These are two alien-like figures, "Bily Bilz" (who is red) and "Maik Pap" (who is yellow). You can see them in commercials, ads, and online. They help promote the sodas.
Recently, the company added a new line of flavors called "Pop." These include three different soft drinks. They come in artificial grape, cherry, or cotton candy flavors.
