Bipul Chettri is a talented singer and songwriter from India. He sings in the Nepali language. His music mixes traditional Himalayan folk rock with a modern touch.

His first album, Sketches of Darjeeling, came out in July 2014. He released his next album, Maya, in 2016. Since then, he has released many popular songs like "Basant", "Gahiro Gahiro", "Ashish", "Teesta", "Mughlan", "Neela Akash", "Salala", and "Bahra Mahina". His EP (a shorter album) called Samaya was released in 2021. Bipul Chettri lives in New Delhi, India.

Early Life and Musical Beginnings

Bipul Chettri comes from a very musical family. His grandfather was a poet, and his grandmother played the sitar, a stringed instrument. His father also loved music and performed in places like Darjeeling and Kurseong. Sadly, Bipul's father passed away when Bipul was very young. Bipul says his father is the reason he loves music and chose to become a musician.

One of the songs on his first album, "Ram Sailee", is a special tribute to his father.

Bipul went to St. Augustine's School in Kalimpong. He often performed there as a student. He chose the western classical guitar as his main instrument. He later earned a special diploma (LTCL) in Western Classical Guitar from the Trinity Music School of London.

Bipul Chettri's Music Journey

Bipul's amazing voice and musical skills first became known with his song "Wildfire (Dadelo)". He recorded it and shared it online in February 2013. This song helped him create his first album, Sketches of Darjeeling.

His first album, Sketches of Darjeeling, was very popular. He was the top-selling artist on OKListen.Com, a music website, in 2014-15. He also won awards for his music. He received 'Pop-Rock Album of the Year' for Sketches of Darjeeling. He also won 'Best Pop-Rock Composition of the Year' and 'Best Male Pop Vocal Performance of the Year' for his song "Syndicate" at the Hero Hits FM 91.2 Awards.

After Sketches of Darjeeling, he released his second album, Maya, in 2016. He continued to release many single songs, including "Basant", "Gahiro Gahiro", "Ashish", "Teesta", "Mughlan", "Neela Akash", "Salala", and "Bahra Mahina". His EP, Samaya, came out in 2021.

When Bipul Chettri performs live, he plays with his band called "The Travelling Band". The band members are Pranai Gurung on guitars, Rahul Rai on bass, Achint Khare on keyboards, Aman Singh Rathore on drums, Prince Nepali on Sarangi and Tungna, and Binaya Man Amatya, who is their sound engineer.
