Discovering Blacktail's Ski Lifts and Trails
Blacktail Mountain has four different ski lifts to take you up the mountain. There is one triple chairlift, which means it can carry three people at a time. This lift is called Olympic. There are also two double chairlifts, named Thunderhead and Crystal. These lifts carry two people at a time.
For beginners, there is a special handle tow. This small lift helps new skiers learn on a gentle training hill.
Ski Trails for All Skill Levels
Blacktail Mountain offers 26 different ski runs, so there's something for everyone!
- About 15% of the trails are for beginners. These are easy runs, perfect if you are just starting out.
- Most of the trails, about 70%, are for intermediate skiers. These runs are a bit more challenging but still fun.
- The remaining 15% are for advanced skiers. These trails are steeper and more exciting.
Blacktail Mountain also has a special terrain park. Here, you can try out jumps and other cool tricks on your skis or snowboard. Some of the advanced trails even go through open areas with trees. This lets you ski right through the trees for an extra adventure!
Services at Blacktail Mountain Lodge
The main building at Blacktail Mountain is called the lodge. It has everything you need for a great day on the slopes. Inside the lodge, you can find a place to rent skis and snowboards. This is super helpful if you don't have your own gear.
There's also a dining area where you can grab a bite to eat. You can warm up with some hot food and drinks. The lodge also has a restaurant, perfect for a bigger meal after a long day of skiing.
