History of Blanchard
Blanchard was first planned out in 1879. A post office opened in the same year. The city officially became a town in 1880.

Blanchard is a very small city. It covers about 0.52 square kilometers (0.20 square miles). All of this area is land.
Cool Places and Landmarks
Blanchard is the end point of the Wabash Trace. This used to be a railroad track. Now, it is a popular trail for bicycles. There was once a gas station here that was entirely in Missouri. It even had signs to show you exactly where you were! A plant that makes fertilizer is also located two miles north of Blanchard.
