Blenker is a small, unincorporated community located in the town of Milladore, in Wood County, Wisconsin, United States. An unincorporated community is a place where people live together, but it doesn't have its own local government like a city or a village. Instead, it's usually part of a larger town or county.
History of Blenker
Blenker has a cool history! A post office, which is where people send and receive mail, first opened in Blenker way back in 1886. That's over 130 years ago!
The community was named after a man named John Blenker. He was a shopkeeper, meaning he owned a store, and he was also the very first postmaster for Blenker. A postmaster is the person in charge of the post office.
Long ago, Blenker also had its own schoolhouse, called the Blenker School. This is where the children of the community would go to learn.
