History
Bloomer got its start in 1848 when a man named Mr. Bloomer and some friends from Galena, Illinois built a mill there. As winter came, Mr. Bloomer sold his part of the mill and went back home.
The village was officially settled in 1855. For a while, it was known as Vanville. But in 1867, after the area was surveyed and mapped out, it became known as Bloomer.
Geography
Bloomer is located in Wisconsin at coordinates 45.102171 degrees North and 91.491767 degrees West.
The city covers a total area of about 3.09 square miles (8.03 square kilometers). Most of this area is land, about 2.94 square miles (7.64 square kilometers), and a small part is water, about 0.15 square miles (0.39 square kilometers).
Bloomer is easy to reach because it's located along major roads like U.S. Highway 53 and Wisconsin Highway 40. Other local roads, County Roads F, Q, and SS, also pass through the city. Wisconsin Highway 64 is also nearby.
