Where is Blossomfort?
Blossomfort is located in County Cork, Ireland. You can find it about 1 kilometer (or about half a mile) southwest of a village called Ballyclogh.
What is Blossomfort?
Blossomfort is a circular lios, which means a circular enclosed space. It measures about 60 meters (or 200 feet) across. There is an entrance on its northeast side.
Ringforts like Blossomfort were built a very long time ago. Most of them were constructed between the years 550 AD and 900 AD. That's over a thousand years ago!
Inside these ringforts, people lived in wooden huts. These forts were like small villages or farms. They provided protection for families and their animals.
Close to Blossomfort, there is another old fort. This second fort might have been used to keep livestock, like cows or sheep, safe.
