What Was Blue Line International?
The "Blue Line" name began in 2003. It was a special brand name used by SMC for their ferry services. These services connected Croatia with Italy. This new brand started when the company bought a ferry named the MV Ancona.
Where Did Blue Line Ferries Sail?
Blue Line International ferries sailed across the Adriatic Sea. They had a regular service that ran all year long. This main route connected the city of Ancona in Italy with Split in Croatia.
Besides the year-round service, Blue Line also offered seasonal trips. These special trips happened during certain times of the year, usually in warmer months. These seasonal routes also went from Ancona to two other Croatian towns: Hvar and Vis.
The End of Blue Line International
Blue Line International operated its ferry services until 2014. After that, the company stopped running its own ferries. Its operations later merged with another ferry company called Pico Ferries.
