Boaz Ma'uda (Hebrew: בועז מעודה) is an Israeli singer and songwriter. He was born on April 23, 1987. Boaz became famous after winning the fifth season of Kokhav Nolad. This show is the Israeli version of Pop Idol, a popular singing competition. He also represented Israel in the Eurovision Song Contest 2008, where he finished in 9th place.

Early Life of Boaz Ma'uda
Boaz was born and grew up in a small village called moshav Elyakim. He still lives there today. He is the youngest child in his family. Boaz comes from a Yemenite Jewish background.

Boaz Ma'uda's journey into music began in a surprising way.
Winning Kochav Nolad
Before Kochav Nolad, Boaz had no experience in the music world. He didn't even know that a friend had signed him up for auditions for the fifth season of the show. During the competition, Boaz sang many songs, especially those with a Mizrahi (Middle Eastern Jewish) and acoustic style. Both the audience and the judges really loved his voice.
The finals took place on August 29, 2007. Boaz competed against two other talented singers, Marina Maximillian Blumin and Shlomi Bar'el. That night, he performed two songs: "Señorita" with the well-known Israeli singer David Broza, and "Menagen veshar" by Avner Gadassi. Boaz won Kochav Nolad 2007 with half of all the votes! This win also earned him a contract with the music company Hed Artzi.
Representing Israel at Eurovision
On November 14, 2007, it was announced that Boaz Ma'uda would represent Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008. This big music competition was held in Belgrade, Serbia.
Before the main event, Boaz sang five different songs in February 2008. The audience and a group of Israeli music experts voted for their favorite. The winning song was "Ke'ilu Kan", which was written by Dana International, another Israeli singer who had won Eurovision before.
Boaz took part in the first semi-finals of the Eurovision Song Contest on May 20, 2008. He did very well, finishing 5th in the semi-finals. This meant he earned a spot in the Grand Final on May 24, 2008. In the final, he finished in 9th place, earning 124 points for Israel.
After Eurovision, in 2009, Boaz appeared in a TV series called Johnny Hollywood. He played the role of a famous singer named Izhar Cohen. In August of the same year, he started his own music tour across Israel.
Boaz Ma'uda's Albums and Songs
Boaz Ma'uda has released several songs and an album since his big win.
- On August 3, 2008, he released his first song called "Oreakh baolam" (meaning "A guest in the world"). This song was written by the famous composer Keren Peles. It was part of his first album, which was simply called "Boaz Ma'uda".
- In March 2009, he released his second song, "Lakhzor Ha-baita" ("Return home"), also written by Keren Peles. He also released a special song called "Time to Pray". He sang this song with Sirusho from Armenia and Jelena Tomasevic from Serbia. Both of them also competed in Eurovision 2008.
- On July 7, 2009, his first full studio album, "Boaz Ma'uda", came out. It had 11 songs, including five new ones. One of these was "Sha'ar libech" ("The gate to your heart"), which was a cover of a song by Olta Boka, another singer from Eurovision 2008.
- In 2011, he released a cover of a famous Israeli song called "Yeled hasade" ("Child of the field"). This song was used for a TV drama series. In April of the same year, he released a new song, "Shniya Ve'od Ahat", from his second album, which he was working on.
