Adegboyega "Bo" Oshoniyi (born November 3, 1971) is a former American soccer goalkeeper. He played for eight seasons in Major League Soccer (MLS). After retiring as a player, he became a successful soccer coach. He is currently the head men's soccer coach at Dartmouth College.

Bo Oshoniyi's Early Life and College Soccer
Bo Oshoniyi was born in Poughkeepsie, New York. When he was four years old, his Nigerian father passed away.
Bo played college soccer at Southern Connecticut State University. He was a key player for his team. He helped them win two national championships in Division II. These big wins happened in 1990 and 1992. During his college career, Bo had an amazing record. He won 67 games, lost only 8, and tied 7.
Bo Oshoniyi's Professional Soccer Career
After college, Bo Oshoniyi became a professional soccer player. He played for several teams.
Starting with Columbus Crew
In 1996, Major League Soccer (MLS) was created. Bo was chosen by the Columbus Crew in their first-ever player draft. In the Crew's first home game, Bo made a memorable play. He kicked a long punt that helped his teammate Brian McBride score a goal.
Bo started 13 games for the Crew that year. However, another great goalkeeper, Brad Friedel, joined the team. Bo was released by the Crew after the 1996 season.
Playing in the A-League and USL
After leaving MLS, Bo played in other leagues.
- In 1997, he joined the Connecticut Wolves. This team was in the First Division.
- He then moved to the Charleston Battery in 1998.
- In 1999, he played for the Atlanta Silverbacks.
Return to MLS with Kansas City Wizards
Bo Oshoniyi returned to MLS in 2000. He was drafted by the New England Revolution. However, he was traded to the Kansas City Wizards before the season started.
Bo had a great time with the Kansas City Wizards.
- In 2000, he played one game and helped his team win the MLS Cup. This is a very important championship in MLS.
- In 2001, he played 11 games when the main goalkeeper, Tony Meola, was injured.
- He continued to play important games when Meola was away.
- In 2004, Bo became the starting goalkeeper for the team. He had a fantastic season, recording 5 shutouts (meaning he didn't let the other team score any goals) in the last 9 games. He was the starting goalkeeper for the MLS Cup playoffs that year.
- In 2005, he played a career-high 32 games. He also had a career-best 7 shutouts. He was one of the top goalkeepers in the league.
- Bo played his last season with the Wizards in 2006. He decided to retire from playing professional soccer. He wanted to focus on coaching instead.
Bo Oshoniyi's Coaching Career
After his playing career, Bo Oshoniyi became a successful soccer coach. He started as an assistant coach at several universities.
- From 2008 to 2010, he was an assistant coach at South Florida and Wake Forest.
- From 2011 to 2014, he was an assistant coach at Penn State.
Head Coach at East Tennessee State
In 2014, Bo Oshoniyi became the head coach for the East Tennessee State Buccaneers men's soccer team.
- He led the team to two conference championships in 2016 and 2017.
- In 2016, his team also made it to the first round of the NCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship.
- Overall, he had a strong record of 36 wins, 24 losses, and 15 ties at East Tennessee State.
Head Coach at Dartmouth College
Since 2018, Bo Oshoniyi has been the head coach for the Dartmouth Big Green men's soccer team. He continues to lead and inspire young soccer players.
