Robert E. Donham (October 11, 1926 – September 21, 1983) was an American professional basketball player. He was known for playing as a shooting guard for the Boston Celtics in the NBA. Donham played for four seasons, all with the Celtics, from 1950 to 1954.
Bob Donham's Basketball Journey
Robert "Bob" Donham was born in Hammond, Indiana. He loved basketball from a young age. He played high school basketball at Clark High School in his hometown.
College Career at Ohio State
After high school, Bob Donham went to Ohio State University. He played college basketball for the Ohio State Buckeyes from 1946 to 1950. During his final year in 1950, he was recognized as a First-team All-Big Ten player. This meant he was one of the best players in his college conference.
Playing for the Boston Celtics
In 1950, Bob Donham was chosen by the Boston Celtics in the third round of the 1950 NBA draft. He was the 24th player picked overall. He joined the Celtics and played his entire professional career with them.
Donham played in the NBA for four seasons. He was known for his all-around play. During his time with the Celtics, he scored a total of 1,818 points. He also grabbed 1,071 rebounds and made 706 assists. These numbers show he was a valuable player for his team.
Bob Donham's career ended in 1954. He passed away in 1983 in Seattle, Washington.
