Robert Wayne Pate, born on December 3, 1953, is a former baseball player. He played as an outfielder for the Montreal Expos in Major League Baseball during 1980 and 1981. He was 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighed 200 pounds. He batted and threw with his right hand.

Baseball Career
Bob Pate was born in Los Angeles, California. He went to Arizona State University and Mesa Community College. The Montreal Expos baseball team chose him in the fourth round of the 1976 MLB Draft. This was a big step in his baseball career.
Early Professional Years
For his first three years as a professional player, Bob played for two minor league teams: the Quebec Metros and the Denver Bears. After that, he joined the main Montreal Expos team.
Best Season
Bob had his best season in 1979 while playing for the Denver Bears. He had a batting average of .323 in 118 games. This made him second in batting in the Triple-A American Association. He also ranked high in hits, total bases, and runs scored.
Major League Baseball
