Bobby Daniel Brooks is a former American football player. He was born on February 24, 1951. Bobby played as a cornerback in the National Football League (NFL). He spent three seasons with the New York Giants. He was chosen by the Giants in the 1974 NFL Draft. Before that, he played college football at Bishop College.

Bobby's Early Life and College Football

Bobby Daniel Brooks was born in Dallas, Texas. This was on February 24, 1951. He went to I.M. Terrell High School in Fort Worth, Texas.

After high school, Bobby played college football. He played for the Bishop Tigers at Bishop College. He was part of their team from 1970 to 1973.

Playing Professional Football

Bobby Brooks was picked by the New York Giants in the 1974 NFL Draft. He was the 263rd player chosen overall. He also got picked by the Memphis Southmen in a different league's draft that same year. But Bobby decided to sign with the New York Giants in 1974.

First Season with the Giants (1974)

In his first year, Bobby played in all 14 games for the Giants. He was a special teams player. He returned five kicks for a total of 106 yards. He also returned one punt for nine yards.

Starting as a Cornerback (1975)

In 1975, Bobby became a starter. He started all 14 games as a left cornerback. A cornerback's job is to stop the other team's passes. During this season, Bobby caught four interceptions. In July 1978, Bobby signed with the Denver Broncos. However, he was released by the Broncos just a few weeks later in August 1978.
