Robert Andrew Burns (born April 4, 1905 – died August 12, 1995) was a Canadian ice hockey player. He played as a left winger. Burns played a few games in the famous National Hockey League (NHL). He was part of the Chicago Black Hawks team.
Robert Burns' Hockey Journey
Robert Burns spent most of his professional hockey career in another league called the American Hockey Association (AHA). He played for many different teams in the AHA. These teams included the Chicago Cardinals/Americans, Duluth Hornets, and Minneapolis Millers. He also played for the Chicago Shamrocks, St. Louis Flyers, Kansas City Pla-Mors, and the Oklahoma City/Minneapolis Warriors.
Playing in the NHL
Even though he played mostly in the AHA, Robert Burns did get to play 17 games in the NHL. This is the top professional ice hockey league in North America. Playing in the NHL is a big achievement for any hockey player.
Retirement and Later Life
Robert Burns decided to retire from playing professional ice hockey in 1930. After his playing career, he lived a long life. He passed away on August 12, 1995, at the age of 90.
