Where Bocourt's Tree Frogs Live
Bocourt's tree frogs like to live in open, grassy areas. These places often get flooded when the rainy season starts. You might also find them hiding under the leaves of banana plants or inside a bromeliad plant. These frogs are quite tough. They can live even if their home changes a bit.
How They Reproduce
These frogs lay their eggs in temporary pools of water. These are pools that only exist for a short time, usually after it rains a lot.
Why Bocourt's Tree Frogs Are Endangered
Sadly, the number of Bocourt's tree frogs has dropped a lot. Scientists think this is because of two main reasons.
Harmful Chemicals
One big problem is pesticide pollution. This means harmful chemicals from farms that grow plants for decoration get into the frogs' homes. These chemicals can make the frogs sick.
Frog Disease
Another possible reason is a serious fungal disease called chytridiomycosis. This disease affects amphibians like frogs and can be very dangerous for them.
