Boggs Island is a small piece of land in the Ohio River. It is located in Marshall County, West Virginia. This island sits between the cities of Bellaire, Ohio and Wheeling, West Virginia.
Boggs Island is quite small. It is found close to the Ohio shore. The island might have gotten its name from a nearby stream called Boggs Run. In the 1980s, companies that dig for coal (called strip mine companies) removed all the grown trees from the island.
