Bojana's Early Life and Education
Bojana Sentaler was born in Belgrade, Serbia. When she was eight years old, her family moved to Canada. She grew up there and later went to York University in Toronto.
At university, Bojana studied business at the Schulich School of Business. She earned a degree in Marketing and Finance in 2006. She chose to study business because she wanted a strong foundation for her future.
Starting Her Fashion Journey
After university, Bojana first worked for a big beauty company. But she soon realized that a regular office job wasn't for her. She had a creative spirit and wanted to start her own business.
In 2008, Bojana traveled to Dubai. There, she started a small business. She helped create reports about business opportunities for a newspaper. This experience helped her learn more about the world of business.
Discovering Alpaca Fabric
In 2009, Bojana went on a trip to Peru. This trip changed everything for her! In Peru, she discovered alpaca fabric. She loved how soft and luxurious it felt. She spent time learning all about its special qualities.
This discovery gave Bojana an idea. She decided to create a luxury outerwear brand. She designed her first seven "dream coats." Soon after, she launched her brand, SENTALER, in 2009 in Toronto.
Sentaler's Rise to Fame
Sentaler coats became very popular. In 2015, the brand gained national attention in Canada. This happened when Sophie Grégoire Trudeau, the wife of Canada's Prime Minister, wore a white Sentaler coat. She wore it to her husband's official swearing-in ceremony.
Many other famous people have also worn Sentaler coats. These include Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton. In 2021, Bojana expanded her brand. She launched Sentaler Men, a new line of coats for men.
