The Bonanza Gift Shop is a famous place in Las Vegas, Nevada. It sits right on the Las Vegas Strip, between the Sahara Las Vegas and the Stratosphere Las Vegas. This shop is known as the World's Largest Gift Shop. It has a huge shopping area, covering over 40,000 square feet.
Many people agree it's a great place for souvenirs. British Airways said it's perfect for finding a special gift. Fodor's, a travel guide, mentioned it might not be the absolute largest in the world. But they agree it's the biggest and best souvenir store in Las Vegas.
History of Bonanza Gift Shop
The Bonanza Gift Shop first opened its doors in 1980. Before it became one big gift shop, the area had smaller stores. There were also two casinos called Jackpot Casino and Money Tree Casino.
In 2006, readers of the Las Vegas Review-Journal newspaper voted it the Best Gift Shop. This shows how popular it was with local people.
In 2016, the property where the shop stands was sold. Haim Gabay bought it for $50 million. He had already been running the store for a year before buying it.
Bonanza Gift Shop in Movies and TV
The Bonanza Gift Shop has even appeared on television and in movies. It was shown on the PBS TV show Going Places. This show explored different interesting locations.
The store also made an appearance in a movie. It was featured in the 2016 film The Trust. This movie starred actor Nicolas Cage.
