Bonde da Stronda is a hip hop music duo from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was formed in 2006 by two friends, Mr. Thug and Léo Stronda. Their songs often talk about everyday life, like friendships, fun times, and relationships. Their first album, Nova Era da Stronda, came out on August 9, 2009.
The Story of Bonde da Stronda
Bonde da Stronda began in November 2006. It was first made up of four members: Mr. Thug (whose real name is Diego Villanueva), Léo Stronda (Leonardo Schulz), Mc Cot (Marcus Vinicius), and Mc Night (Patrick Lopes).
They started by recording songs at home. They shared these songs online by themselves. Soon, their music became popular and caught the attention of the media. Mc Cot left the group in 2007. Mc Night also left the group in 2008. Mc Night was part of the album Stronda Style. Mc Cot was on some songs but did not appear on any albums.
In 2009, Bonde da Stronda made a new version of an 80s song. It was called "Tic Tic Nervoso" by Kid Vinil. This song was even used in the TV show Malhação. Later in 2009, they released their album Nova Era da Stronda. In 2011, they released another album called A Profecia. On July 4, 2012, they shared their new work, a mixtape called Corporação.
