Club Atlético Boston River, usually called Boston River, is a sports club from Montevideo, Uruguay. It was started on February 20, 1939. Their main sport is football, and their team plays in Uruguay's top football league, the Uruguayan Primera División. Boston River also has a futsal team that plays in the first division of the AUF.
The club's name comes from two things. "Boston" comes from "Sastrería Boston," which was a tailor shop owned by the club's founder. "River" comes from the famous Argentine football team, River Plate.
