Bourg-en-Lavaux is a special place in Switzerland. It is a municipality, which is like a local government area. This municipality is found in the Lavaux-Oron district, within the canton of Vaud.
Bourg-en-Lavaux is quite new! It was formed on 1 July 2011. Before that, it was five separate municipalities. These were Cully, Epesses, Grandvaux, Riex, and Villette (Lavaux). They all joined together to create the single municipality we know today.
