The School of Art, Bournville was a special school in Birmingham, England. It taught students about art and design. This school was also known by other names, like Bournville College of Art. It was located in an area called Bournville, on Linden Road.

In 1988, the school joined Birmingham City University. At that time, the university was called Birmingham Polytechnic. The School of Art became part of the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design (BIAD).

A New Look for the School

The school building got a big update in 2002. It cost about £6 million to make it new again. The building reopened on October 21, 2002. This was exactly 100 years after the first stone was laid for Ruskin Hall, where the school was located.

The school was a place for many art activities. It hosted the International Project Space. It also held Birmingham's yearly Creative Partnerships exhibition. This show displayed amazing art made by local school students.

Famous Artists from Bournville

Many talented people studied at the School of Art, Bournville. These students went on to become famous artists and performers.

Moving to a New Home

In 2013, the art courses from Bournville moved. They went to a new building called Parkside Building. This new building is in the centre of Birmingham city.

After the art courses moved, the Bournville site changed. It became home to the University's International College. This college helps students from other countries.

International Project Space

The International Project Space was an art gallery at the Bournville campus. It was sometimes called IPS:Bournville. This gallery was part of the Birmingham Institute of Art and Design. It was located in the Bournville area of Birmingham, England.

The gallery first opened its doors in 2002. It showed art from both local and international artists. The IPS also hosted special art residencies and conferences. Many different artists showed their work there.
