Brénaz was a small commune (a type of local government area) located in the Ain department in eastern France. It was a place where people lived and worked, just like a town or village.
On January 1, 2019, Brénaz joined with other nearby communes to form a new, larger commune called Arvière-en-Valromey. This means Brénaz is no longer a separate commune on its own.
