Bradshaw: A Small Texas Town
How Bradshaw Began
The town of Bradshaw started in 1909. It was founded because the railroad was being built nearby. People from a town called Audra, which was close by, wanted to live closer to the new railway line. So, they moved and created Bradshaw.
Bradshaw's Changing Population
Bradshaw grew quite a bit in its early years. By 1929, the town had about 450 people living there. However, after that, the number of people slowly started to go down. This happened partly because new ways of travel made it easier for people to go to bigger cities, like Abilene, which is north of Bradshaw. By the year 2000, the town's population was 61 people.
