Bram van der Vlugt (born May 28, 1934 – died December 19, 2020) was a famous Dutch actor. He was most well-known for playing the beloved character of Sinterklaas for over twenty years. He passed away in 2020 at the age of 86, after getting COVID-19.

Bram van der Vlugt's Acting Career
Playing Sinterklaas
Bram van der Vlugt became very famous for playing Sinterklaas from 1986 to 2010. Many people in the Netherlands knew him best from the annual arrival of Sinterklaas. He also starred as Sinterklaas in the popular TV series De Club van Sinterklaas.
He appeared as Sinterklaas in many other television shows too. Some of these included Goede tijden, slechte tijden (in 2006) and De Wereld Draait Door (in 2008 and 2010). After 2010, another actor, Stefan de Walle, took over the role of Sinterklaas.
Even after he officially stopped, Bram van der Vlugt still played Sinterklaas a few more times. He appeared in the 2019 film De Brief voor Sinterklaas. He also played Sinterklaas in the 2020 film De Grote Sinterklaasfilm. This movie came out just two months before he passed away. It was one of the highest-earning Dutch films of that year. Both films were directed by Lucio Messercola.
Other Television Roles
Besides Sinterklaas, Bram van der Vlugt had many other acting roles. From 1963 to 1965, he played Dr. Finlay in the TV show Memorandum van een dokter.
Later, between 2005 and 2008, he played a lawyer named Marius de Boer. This was in the television series Keyzer & De Boer Advocaten. He also appeared as Onno Kremer in the series Moordvrouw from 2013 to 2014.
Bram van der Vlugt's Personal Life
Bram van der Vlugt was born in The Hague, a city in the Netherlands. His parents were Ellen Stokvis and Abraham Rutger van der Vlugt.
He was also the father of a musician and former model named Marijne van der Vlugt.
