College Basketball Journey
Brandon Costner started his college basketball career in 2005. However, he got injured just five games into the 2005–06 season. Because of this injury, he was given a "medical redshirt." This means he didn't play that season, but it didn't count as one of his four years of college eligibility. So, the 2006–07 season became his first official year playing.
One of his most exciting games was in 2007. He scored 30 points against Duke in a tournament. His team, the Wolfpack, won that game.
Becoming a Professional Player
In March 2009, Brandon decided to leave college early. He chose to enter the 2009 NBA draft, hoping to join an NBA team. Even though he wasn't picked in the draft, he still got a chance to play. He joined the Chicago Bulls for the 2009 NBA Summer League.
Later that year, he signed his first professional contract. He joined a team called Belfius Mons-Hainaut in Belgium for the 2009–10 season.
Playing in the D-League
In November 2010, Brandon was chosen by the Utah Flash in the NBA D-League Draft. The D-League (now called the G-League) is a league where players can develop their skills. Many players hope to get noticed there and move on to the NBA.
He later joined the Los Angeles D-Fenders in November 2011. After playing in the D-League, he also played for a team in France called Limoges CSP Elite. He returned to the Los Angeles D-Fenders again in November 2013.
International Basketball Adventures
Brandon has played for many teams around the world. In July 2016, he signed with the Guizhou White Tigers in China. He also played for the Caciques de Humacao in Puerto Rico. He rejoined them in February 2017.
In May 2017, he went back to China to play for Hebei Xianglan. In January 2018, he joined Champville SC in the Lebanese Basketball League.
Playing in the BAL
In May 2021, Brandon joined a team from Rwanda called Patriots BBC. They played in the 2021 BAL season. BAL stands for the Basketball Africa League. It's a new and exciting league for teams across Africa.
