Brenko Lee, born on October 10, 1995, is a talented rugby league player. He represents Tonga internationally. In the National Rugby League (NRL), he plays as a centre and winger.
Lee has played for several NRL teams. These include the Dolphins, Brisbane Broncos, Canberra Raiders, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs, Melbourne Storm, and Gold Coast Titans. He also played for Queensland in the famous State of Origin series. He is known for being undefeated in that series. Brenko Lee was also part of the team that won the NRL premiership in 2020.
About Brenko Lee's Early Life
Brenko Lee was born in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. His family heritage includes both Tongan and Indigenous Australian roots. He has several famous relatives who are also athletes.
His cousins include Redcliffe Dolphins rugby league player Edrick Lee. Also, NBA basketball player Patty Mills and NBL basketball player Nathan Jawai are his cousins. Edrick's uncle, Danny Morseu, was an Olympian basketball player. He was the second Indigenous Australian to play basketball for Australia at the Olympics. Brenko's great uncle is Eddie Mabo, a well-known Indigenous land rights activist.
Brenko went to school at Marsden State High School in Logan City. He started playing junior rugby league for the Logan Brothers. Later, the Canberra Raiders signed him to their team.

Starting His Career in Rugby League
From 2013 to 2015, Brenko Lee played for the Canberra Raiders' NYC team. On April 20, 2013, he played for the Queensland under-20s team. They played against the New South Wales under-20s team. In December 2013, he signed a new three-year contract with the Canberra Raiders.
Playing for the Canberra Raiders (2014-2016)
On May 3, 2014, Lee again played for the Queensland Under-20s team. He made his official NRL debut in Round 15 of the 2014 NRL season. This was for the Raiders against the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He played on the wing in a game at Canberra Stadium. In the next game, he scored his first two NRL tries against the Wests Tigers. After Round 21, his season ended due to a hamstring injury. He played 4 matches and scored 3 tries in his first NRL year.
In 2015, Brenko Lee played for the Junior Kangaroos. He was also named in the Tonga squad in September.
Moving to the Canterbury Bulldogs (2017)
In October 2016, Lee signed a two-year contract with the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs. He started playing for them in 2017. His debut for the Bulldogs was on March 3, 2017, against the Melbourne Storm.
Lee also made his international debut for Mate Ma'a Tonga in the 2017 Pacific Rugby League Tests. In December 2017, he signed a one-year contract with the Gold Coast Titans.
Time with the Gold Coast Titans (2018-2019)
In 2018, Lee played 14 games for the Gold Coast Titans. He scored 3 tries. The team finished 14th in the season. In 2019, he played only 6 games for the Gold Coast. The team had a tough season, finishing last and getting the wooden spoon.
After not being re-signed by the Gold Coast, Lee joined the Queensland Cup team, the Easts Tigers, for the 2020 season.
Winning with the Melbourne Storm (2020-2021)
Brenko Lee then signed with the Melbourne Storm. He played in the 2020 NRL Nines tournament. In Round 4 of the 2020 season, he made his Storm debut. He played centre in the Storm's 2020 NRL Grand Final victory. They won 26–20 against the Penrith Panthers.
He was also chosen to play for the Queensland Maroons. He debuted in the third game of the 2020 State of Origin series. He played alongside his cousin Edrick Lee in a game that won the series for Queensland.
On May 28, 2021, Lee signed a two-year contract to join the Brisbane Broncos. This move was set for the 2022 season. Due to injuries, he played only four games for Brisbane Tigers in the 2021 Queensland Cup. He did not return to the Broncos squad that year.
Joining the Dolphins (2022-2023)
In June 2022, Lee signed a two-year deal to join the new Dolphins (NRL) team. This was ahead of their first NRL season in 2023. In Round 1 of the 2023 NRL season, Lee made his debut for the Dolphins. They won their first game against the Sydney Roosters 28–18. At the end of the 2023 season, it was announced that Lee would be leaving the club.
