Breton Woods is a small, quiet community. It is located within Brick Township in Ocean County, New Jersey. An "unincorporated community" means it's not a separate town with its own government. Instead, it's part of a larger township.

This community is found near the Metedeconk River. A main road, Mantoloking Road (County Route 528), cuts right through the middle of it. Most of Breton Woods is made up of small, one-story houses called bungalows. These homes are spread out along the smaller roads in the area. You'll also find some businesses along Mantoloking Road.

There's a 31-acre wooded area nearby also known as Breton Woods. This land used to belong to the Archdiocese of Trenton, which is a religious organization. They once thought about using the land for a cemetery.

A Look Back: The History of Breton Woods

Breton Woods was created in the 1930s. At that time, property developers planned it as a place for summer homes. People would come here to enjoy their vacations.

A post office was opened in Breton Woods in 1937. This allowed people living there to send and receive mail easily. However, the post office eventually closed down in 1960.
