Briarcliff is situated about 30 miles (48 kilometers) west of Austin, a major city in Texas. It's also just over 6 miles (10 kilometers) west of Lakeway.

This water area includes access to Lake Travis, a large lake popular for outdoor activities. You can reach Cat Hollow, a part of Lake Travis, by boat from a marina.
