Bridge Lake is a beautiful lake located in the Interlakes District of British Columbia, Canada. This area is part of the larger South Cariboo region. The lake used to be known as Greater Fish Lake.

Bridge Lake is where Bridge Creek begins. This creek flows in a winding path, first west and then northeast. It eventually reaches Canim Lake, passing through the town of 100 Mile House along the way.

Bridge Lake is found in the central part of British Columbia. It is about 560 kilometers (348 miles) north of Vancouver. It is also around 140 kilometers (87 miles) northwest of Kamloops. The lake is close to Highway 24, which is also called the Little Fort Highway.

How Big is Bridge Lake?

Bridge Lake covers an area of about 16 square kilometers (6.2 square miles). This size includes several small islands and rocks within the lake. The largest island is called Long Island. It rises to an elevation of 1,136 meters (3,727 feet) above sea level. Bridge Lake is one of the biggest lakes along the Interlakes Highway. Its neighbors, Sheridan Lake and Lac des Roches, are also large lakes in this area.

The Bridge Lake Community

The community of Bridge Lake is located at the eastern end of the lake. About 500 people live in this small town. You can also find Bridge Lake Centennial Provincial Park here. This park is a great place for outdoor activities and enjoying nature.

Neighboring Lakes

Just east of Bridge Lake is Lac des Roches. To its west, you will find Sheridan Lake. These three lakes are the largest in the district. They are located between Canim Lake to the north and Bonaparte lake to the southeast. The area where the Bonaparte River collects its water is just south of Bridge Lake. This includes its smaller stream, the Rayfield River.
