Brinsley Forde is a British singer and actor. He was born on October 16, 1953, in London, England. His parents were from Guyana. He is best known as a founding member of the reggae band Aswad. He was also a child actor in the children's TV show Here Come the Double Deckers!.

His Acting Career
Brinsley Forde started acting when he was young. He appeared in two episodes of the TV show Please Sir!. He also played Wesley in the movie version of Please Sir! in 1971.
A year before that, he had a big role in the film Leo the Last (1970). This movie was filmed in West London. He also appeared in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever. Later, he was in the TV program The Georgian House.
His Music Career
Brinsley Forde is a talented musician. He was a founding member of the reggae group Aswad. Reggae is a type of music that started in Jamaica.
With Aswad, he was nominated for two Grammy Awards. These are very important music awards. In 1988, Aswad had a number-one hit song in Britain called "Don't Turn Around". They also had another popular song, "Give A Little Love".
Aswad continued to have success. Their album Distant Thunder was very popular. Other hit songs included "On and On", "Next to You", and "Shine".
Brinsley Forde also worked as a radio presenter. He hosted shows like Lively Up Yourself and Dub Bashment on BBC's 6 Music. He also presented radio documentaries about music.
In 2009, he performed with the artist Dizzee Rascal. They sang "Can't Tek No More" on a BBC TV show.
Special Recognition
In 2015, Brinsley Forde received a special honor. He was appointed a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE). This award is given for great achievements in the arts.
