Brittany Hayes, born on February 7, 1985, is an American water polo player. She was a key member of the U.S. water polo team. Her team won a silver medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Brittany grew up in Orange County, California. She went to Foothill High School in Tustin. Later, she studied at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Irvine. After her sports career, she became a lawyer.

Brittany Hayes showed great talent in water polo from a young age. She was a star player in high school.
High School Success
While at Foothill High School, Brittany won four CIF Championships. CIF stands for California Interscholastic Federation. This is a big achievement for high school sports. In her final year, she was named CIF Co-Player of the Year. She was also the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Seaview League for three years.
College Achievements
Brittany continued her amazing water polo career in college. In 2004, she was named the NCAA Tournament Most Valuable Player. This happened when the University of Southern California team won the NCAA Championship. The NCAA Championship is a top college sports competition. Brittany was also a finalist for the Peter J. Cutino Award in 2004 and 2005. This award goes to the best male and female college water polo players.
Playing for Team USA
Brittany Hayes also played for the U.S. women's senior national team. She helped her team win gold medals at the FINA World Championships. FINA is the international swimming federation.
World Championship Gold Medals
- In 2007, Brittany was part of the team that won gold in Melbourne, Australia.
- In 2009, she helped the team win another gold medal in Rome, Italy.
Olympic Silver Medal
Brittany's biggest achievement was winning a silver medal. This happened at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. She played a vital role on the U.S. water polo team.
