History of Brogden
The Brogden community got its name from the Brogden family. This family were Quakers, a religious group known for their peaceful beliefs. They came from England and settled in this area a long time ago, during the time when North Carolina was still a colony.
A historic building called Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2008. This means it's an important place to protect because of its history.
Brogden is also famous for being the birthplace of Ava Gardner. She was a very well-known Hollywood actress.
