Brooksburg is a small town in Milton Township, Jefferson County, Indiana, United States. In 2010, about 81 people lived there. By 2020, the population was 72.

History of Brooksburg
Brooksburg was planned and laid out in 1843. It was named after Noah Brooks, who was one of the people who helped start the town. Later, on August 24, 1878, Brooksburg officially became an incorporated town.
Geography and Landmarks
Brooksburg is located on the south side of the Indian-Kentuck Creek. It's just north of State Road 56, right before the creek flows into the Ohio River.
The town has some old-fashioned tobacco barns. You can also find buildings that were built in the mid-to-late 1800s. For example, there's the "Webster" house, which was built in the 1870s. This house is now owned by the Fisher family, who have lived there for many years. They also own other land and houses in Brooksburg.
According to the 2010 census, Brooksburg covers a total area of about 0.11 square miles (0.29 square kilometers). Most of this area, about 0.10 square miles (0.26 square kilometers), is land. A smaller part, about 0.01 square miles (0.02 square kilometers), is water.

Brooksburg in 2010
In 2010, the census showed that 81 people lived in Brooksburg. These people lived in 32 different homes, and 19 of these were families.
