Brouay is a small place in northwestern France. It is located in the Calvados area, which is part of the Normandy region.
Until January 1, 2017, Brouay was its own separate "commune." A commune is like a small town or village with its own local government. On that date, Brouay joined with other nearby communes to form a new, larger commune called Thue et Mue.
In Brouay, there is a special cemetery next to the church. This cemetery holds the graves of 377 soldiers who died during the Normandy campaigns in World War II. Most of these soldiers were from the United Kingdom. It's a place to remember their bravery.
