Brownvale is a small community, called a hamlet, located in northern Alberta, Canada. It's part of the Municipal District of Peace No. 135. You can find it near Highway 737, not far from Highway 2. It's about 48 kilometers southwest of the town of Peace River. The Duncan's First Nation reserve is also close by, less than 5 kilometers to the south.
History of Brownvale
The community of Brownvale started in the mid-1920s. This was when the railway line was extended from Berwyn to Whitelaw. The town was named after a person named John Brown. He first came to this area in 1913. In 1924, his homestead was chosen as the perfect spot for the new community.

Brownvale is a small place. In the 2021 Census, 114 people lived there. They lived in 52 homes. This number is very close to the 115 people who lived there in 2016. The hamlet covers an area of about 3.06 square kilometers.
Education in Brownvale
Brownvale does not have an open school right now. The building that used to be Brownvale Elementary School is now the hamlet's town hall. This building is often used for fun community events. People gather there for things like bingo games, parties, and memorial services.
