Bruach na Frìthe is a famous mountain peak in Scotland. It's part of the Black Cuillin mountain range. You can find it on the beautiful Isle of Skye.

This mountain, like others in the Cuillin, is made of a special rock called gabbro. Gabbro is great for climbing because it's very grippy. Many people look from Sligachan and think they see Bruach na Frìthe. But the peak you often see from there is actually Sgurr a' Bhasteir, which is a bit lower.

Climbing Bruach na Frìthe

Bruach na Frìthe is one of the easiest peaks to climb in the Black Cuillin. You don't need special scrambling skills to reach the top. This makes it one of the most popular mountains to climb in the area.

The simplest way to climb the mountain is through a path called Fionn Coire. Another popular way to go up is the Northwest Ridge. Both of these paths involve walking on steep ground. You will also find loose rocks and small stones, known as scree.

Amazing Views from the Summit

Even though Bruach na Frìthe is not the tallest peak in the Cuillin range, it offers some of the best views. From the top, you can see amazing landscapes all around you.

It's also special because it's the only main peak in the Cuillin that has an Ordnance Survey pillar. This pillar is a marker used by mapmakers.
