Research on Near-Death Experiences
What Are Near-Death Experiences?
Dr. Greyson is a very important researcher in the field of near-death studies. Some people even call him the "father" of research into near-death experiences. A near-death experience (NDE) is when someone who was close to dying describes what they felt or saw. These experiences can include feelings of peace or seeing a bright light.
How Dr. Greyson Studies NDEs
Dr. Greyson built on the work of other researchers. These included Raymond Moody and Elisabeth Kübler-Ross. He created a special way to measure NDEs. This is called the Greyson Scale. It helps scientists understand different parts of these experiences. Many other researchers use his scale.
He also created another scale. This one helps to understand experiences called kundalini. Dr. Greyson wrote about NDEs for the Encyclopædia Britannica. He was also the main editor for the Journal of Near-Death Studies. He has often talked to the media about his research. This has helped more people learn about NDEs.
